Fishin'

Dad and Uncle Charlie took Blake and Blair fishing-on the boat! Dad said they did great! And, they even brought home dinner.

Blair Birthday Part 2

Blair had a great 5th birthday! She took donuts and milk to share with her pre-school class. At 12:30 6 of her little friends came over for a party. We ate Blair's favorite lunch of pizza and had Hello Kitty cupcakes and ice cream. We played games and did crafts. I think they all had a good time. The cupcakes were nothing fancy and certainly NOT as good as Nana's. Oh well, 5 year-olds don't really care. I think this might be the best bunch of little kids around! I love every single one of them!! Blake was especially excited to get to come home from school early to be at Blair's party. We played outside (after Ballet) and Blair opened some presents from Mommy and Daddy. I am exhausted and so is Blair (I for see a birthday hangover tomorrow) but I would do every bit of it again to see that little smile on her face. I am so proud of my little girl. She is sweet and spunky, smart and fun. I am sad to see this phase of her little life come to close but I'm also excited to see what God has in store for her.

Blair's 5th Birthday part 1

We visited family this past weekend and celebrated Blair's birthday. We had a great party on Saturday with our family. She loved being the center of attention! We had her favorite-pizza, salad, Sunkist, birthday cake, ice cream and chocolate covered strawberries. Nana made her a special ballerina birthday cake. She received so many nice and thoughtful gifts. It is such a blessing to have so many people who love her. She got a new bicycle which was good thing as she had outgrown her little one. The new one is pretty fancy!

A Visit From the Tooth Fairy

Blake lost his first tooth on February 1st. He didn't want to put it under his pillow that evening because he wanted Blair to get to see it and she was already asleep. He also thought it would be a good idea to wait until all of his baby teeth came out and put them all under his pillow so he could get a lot of money! I convinced him that wasn't a good idea. The tooth fairy brought him $5.00. I guess the price of teeth have increased since I was a child!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with our family!

Blair received her very own personalized letter from Santa. She thought it was very neat that Santa knew exactly what she had been up to! Blake also got a letter, but wasn't very interested.

We visited with Aunt Becky, Uncle David, Aunt Harumi and Taylor over Christmas.

Christmas Play

We had a long but good day. Went to church, lunch, Blair's pre-school program and a church Christmas play. By the end of the day I had one snarky shepherd and one disgruntled angel. They were cute though!

A Few Pre-Christmas

We have been busy along with everyone else this holiday season. Last Sunday we visited Santa. Blake is really starting to question us about Santa. He just doesn't buy it but he's too afraid not to believe. Hoping we will know the right time to level with him. It's tough when you don't want to feed a lie and REALLY make it into something it's not and still not spoil it for a younger sibling. Which leads me to Blair. She is totally sold on Santa; Even though, she wouldn't tell him what she wanted for Christmas which makes it tough since she won't tell me either!! Blake had his Christmas music program at school. It was really cute. They wore their pj's and sang Christmas songs. I couldn't really get any good pictures or video. It was so crowded and I felt like I was in other people's way. Will have more to post soon.

Basketball-The Ninjas

Blake is playing basketball again this season. He loves it! It's his favorite sport of all that he's played.

Happy Halloween!

We had a fun and busy Halloween! Blair literally wore her costume all day! She had a party at pre-school and ballet before trick-or-treating. After ballet we rushed home to get Blake ready and created his Darth Maul (Star Wars) costume. Worked out pretty good for my first real attempt at face paint and massive amounts of hair gel to create the spike look! We had some friends over to trick-or-treat with us. We had a dinosaur, cowboy, muscle man, ninja, and a bunny join us! We were quite the crew trying herd them through the streets. They were tired and loaded with candy when we returned. Our friends Jason and Kerby are here visiting us from Costa Rica. They were wonderful and helped answer the door while we showered our little goblins and got them into bed.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkin last weekend. Dad did a great job! Blake and Blair didn't weren't very interested in the pumpkin. They were too busy playing together. Which is fine! I will take it when I can get it!

First UT Football Game

We took B&B to their first UT game this weekend. On Friday evening we went to the bookstore, visited Gen. Neyland and caught a Baseball Vols practice. Saturday we went to the Vol Walk. Blake and Blair loved the band and especially loved petting Smokey (the real dog). We visited some friends at their tailgate and headed to the stadium a little early to take in all the sites and sounds. I loved watching them experience all of the orangeness and answering every one of the 15 million questions they had! Also, enjoyed watching the Dobyns Bennett marching band at halftime. My little (not so little) cousin Jake plays in the band. They were fabulous! We met my parents after the game for dinner and they were excited to tell them all about their day. It was really nice to spend the day with my family and share something special like UT with my children. I always feel blessed to have grown up in east Tennessee and to call it home.
