We took B&B to their first UT game this weekend. On Friday evening we went to the bookstore, visited Gen. Neyland and caught a Baseball Vols practice. Saturday we went to the Vol Walk. Blake and Blair loved the band and especially loved petting Smokey (the real dog). We visited some friends at their tailgate and headed to the stadium a little early to take in all the sites and sounds. I loved watching them experience all of the orangeness and answering every one of the 15 million questions they had! Also, enjoyed watching the Dobyns Bennett marching band at halftime. My little (not so little) cousin Jake plays in the band. They were fabulous! We met my parents after the game for dinner and they were excited to tell them all about their day. It was really nice to spend the day with my family and share something special like UT with my children. I always feel blessed to have grown up in east Tennessee and to call it home.
Blair's pre-school class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch last week. We had fun! She has a sweet class with lots of good friends. Two of her best buddies William who we go to church with and Caleb whose parents are some of our best friends are in the pictures.
Blair is playing soccer this fall and she is very excited! She is on the sweetest little team coached by one of our good friends with lots of her little friends on the team. I know they are going to have so much fun!
Blake started school on Friday! He has a great teacher and we are excited about a great year! The bottom picture was too funny though. Blair was barely awake, nobody noticed that the sign was upside down and the look on Hogan's face pretty much sums it up!
After we visited the family we headed to the Smoky Mountains. We kept it pretty low key. We swam at the condo, went to the river to a special little spot where the water is just right for splashing and playing and we took the kids to play putt-putt and ride go-carts on our way out of town.
Scott participated in a second tri-athalon this weekend. This one was a little longer than Tullahoma. He swam 1 mile in the Tennessee River, biked 26 and ran 6. It was SO hot and humid but he did great! I am so proud of him!
Blake and Blair got a tent and sleeping bags for their birthday. We spent last week in east Tennessee and one night we camped out. They actually made it all night in the tent! We had fun getting it all together. They also spent time with Nana and went to Bays Mountain. They were able to catch the wolf demonstration and got to hear them howl. We went to see Uncle David and Aunt Harumi on Thursday and went to Dollywood with them on Friday. That was a lot of fun and it was a perfect weather day. The kids did great and we spent the whole day. Then we headed to Aunt Becky's where we had another fire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. We had a yummy breakfast, opened birthday presents and visited on the porch.
