St. George Island

We just back from a trip to St. George Island, Florida. It was a perfect for a trip to enjoy the beach and family time. There isn't much there but, I truly think it adds to the charm--great seafood, great seashells and great family time.

St. George Island State Park

While on the island we visited the state park which "Dr. Beach" voted the #4 most beautiful beach in America. It was truly beautiful and the shells were amazing. Also, lots of sea turtle nests. I wish I could be there in August to see those little guys make their way to the ocean!

Fun with Friends

A family we are friends with also went to the beach this week. We didn't plan it together but it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The children had the best time playing together on the beach!

Lazy Spring Day at Becky's

Back in May we made a trip to east Tennessee for a family visit. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time. We celebrated Taylor's graduation and Blake's and my birthday.

For the past 6 years I have been driving at least one little person to pre-school. Blair "graduated" on Monday. A tad bittersweet, but so very proud of her!

Just a couple of good pictures...

Blake's Birthday

Blake had a sleepover on Friday with a few of his friends. I think the key to success was keeping it small and it helped that Blair spent the night with her friend which is one of the boys little sisters. There were no tears, no one got mad and no one got hurt. I think this is the best group of little boys around! We had a bouncer on Friday evening and they all played outside until dark. When they came in they played upstairs and then went to sleep about 11. They were up early and after breakfast they watched cartoons and played outside more. Blake was pretty exhausted Saturday afternoon but everyone seems to have recovered.
ll
We have celebrated Blake's birthday all week! We celebrated on his actual birthday, just the four of us, by going out for breakfast and opening presents. On Sunday, mamaw, papaw and nana came and we celebrated again with Blake's favorite meal of fried chicken and vegetables, opened MORE presents and had nana's super yummy cupcakes.

Blair's Recital

Blair loves ballet! She had two dances in her recital this year that was called "Feathered Friends". SHe was a duckling and an indigo bunting. She is already sad that it is over and wants to know when it will begin again.

Blair Birthday Part 2

Blair had a great 5th birthday! She took donuts and milk to share with her pre-school class. At 12:30 6 of her little friends came over for a party. We ate Blair's favorite lunch of pizza and had Hello Kitty cupcakes and ice cream. We played games and did crafts. I think they all had a good time. The cupcakes were nothing fancy and certainly NOT as good as Nana's. Oh well, 5 year-olds don't really care. I think this might be the best bunch of little kids around! I love every single one of them!! Blake was especially excited to get to come home from school early to be at Blair's party. We played outside (after Ballet) and Blair opened some presents from Mommy and Daddy. I am exhausted and so is Blair (I for see a birthday hangover tomorrow) but I would do every bit of it again to see that little smile on her face. I am so proud of my little girl. She is sweet and spunky, smart and fun. I am sad to see this phase of her little life come to close but I'm also excited to see what God has in store for her.

Blair's 5th Birthday part 1

We visited family this past weekend and celebrated Blair's birthday. We had a great party on Saturday with our family. She loved being the center of attention! We had her favorite-pizza, salad, Sunkist, birthday cake, ice cream and chocolate covered strawberries. Nana made her a special ballerina birthday cake. She received so many nice and thoughtful gifts. It is such a blessing to have so many people who love her. She got a new bicycle which was good thing as she had outgrown her little one. The new one is pretty fancy!

A Visit From the Tooth Fairy

Blake lost his first tooth on February 1st. He didn't want to put it under his pillow that evening because he wanted Blair to get to see it and she was already asleep. He also thought it would be a good idea to wait until all of his baby teeth came out and put them all under his pillow so he could get a lot of money! I convinced him that wasn't a good idea. The tooth fairy brought him $5.00. I guess the price of teeth have increased since I was a child!
