More Party Pics

Halloween Party

Some mommies amaze me and Amy is one of them.  She is a mother of three and her husband is deployed in Afghanistan.  Today she hosted (at her house) a Halloween party.  There were 12 kids under the age of 5 there!  Everyone came in costume.  The kids played, decorated shirts, each got a treat bag full of really cool goodies, ate "mummy dogs", fruit, veggies, chips and decorated cupcakes.  Who could ask for more??  Everyone had a great time!  Thanks Amy!

B&B's Costumes

Blake wanted to be a dragon and he wanted Blair to be a flower.  They seem pretty happy with their costumes and I think they look adorable!

The Monkey Treehouse

Blake and Caleb

Maddie and Blair peeking out of the playhouse.

Look at ME!

Gurlz only little Caleb!

Yesterday I took B&B to the Monkey Treehouse in Nashville. We met some friends and had a great time. There were so many things to do. I would've taken more pictures but they were darting around like flies. I asked Blake what his favorite part was and he said, "the slides", "the sand", "the dinosaurs" and "the trains" and there was so much more than that!  I think we will definitely go back.  My favorite part was spending a little time with Christy & Amy.

New Hampshire/Maine

Last week we took a trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and to Acadia National Park in Maine with our friends Steve and Christy.    The fall colors were beautiful.  The pictures really can't do it justice.  We took a couple of hikes, went sailing, ate LOTS of lobster and got to relax a little.  We had a great time!

Pumpkin Patch

A Funny

We went to the park Saturday afternoon.  There were some kids playing flag football and Blake wanted to watch.  I heard someone say my name and it was Blake's pre-school teacher from last year.  Her children were playing football.  She came over to talk to us.  She told Blake that his hair had really gotten blonde over the summer and asked him where he got all of that hair.  Blake was just casually standing there.  He sort of gestured to the side with one hand and answered her, "Well, that's just that way God made me."  He can act like such a little adult sometime!  We all had to turn around not to laugh out loud.

Fun on the Farm

I took B&B and went to mom and dad's for the weekend.  Scott got to go to the Ryder Cup, and he said it was great.  I went to the Florida game with Catherine Morris.  It was so good to spend some time catching up with my sweet friend!  I wish the game had been better.  On Sunday, I stopped by Aunt Becky's for a visit.  Rodney had the John Deere up and running so Blake got to take his first ride (or drive as you can see).  Blair had fun watching.  It won't be long before she has a turn too!  Blake also got to take a short ride in Aunt Becky's convertible.  What a fun afternoon!

Blair Sliding

Blair will be 18 months old in two days.  Time seems to have flown.  She has the best little personality.  She loves to give kisses and hugs and is picking up words everyday.  Scott taught her to say baby.  The other day he told her to get her baby and she made a bee line to her room and retrieved her doll.  She was so proud of herself!  She wants to do everything that Blake does.  Saturday she decided she was big enough to follow him down the slide.

The Backyardagains

Scott and I took Blake to see the Backyardagains Live on Saturday.  He did great and really enjoyed the show.  Mallory kept Blair and the picture is of Blake giving Blair a hug before we left.  Look at his face!!

Science Center

Scott took Blake to the Science Center in Nashville on Saturday.   Scott said it's geared more for older kids, but they still had a great time.

Seagrove

Well, I think we need a vacation from our vacation!  Not really, but, anybody who thinks taking two little kids to the beach is a breeze is crazy.  After day one, Blake decided he didn't like the sand and refused to go to the beach.  Blair didn't really like the sand but got use to it.  What she hated most was the noise of the waves.  For the first two days, there was a tropical storm in the gulf so the waves were big.  She doesn't like loud noises (fireworks, car washes, and now waves!)  We finally made her happy on Wednesday when we discovered that she would sit very contentedly in a bucket of water.  Who would have thought?  We spent a lot of time by the pool at the house and a lot of time switching off kids and adults so that at least somebody could go to the beach.  Scott and I managed a nice dinner and an outdoor concert in Seaside.  Oh, I just about forgot, we came home a day early because Blair got sick!  She's feeling better now, just a little virus.  So, needless to say, we have had more restful vacations, but it was good to be at the beach and get a good tan!

VBS

We had Vacation Bible School last week.  Blake had a great time "Surfin' Through the Scriptures".  We are still singing "Beach Be-Attitudes" in the car.  He had a great little group and most of these kids are in his Sunday School class.  Left-Right--Blake, Ms. Diane holding Caleb, Bentley, Jude, Tessa, & Katelyn.  Ms. Diane has taken care of Blake in the nursery since he was a baby and is the two year old Sunday School teacher.  We are so fortunate to have a great childcare staff.

Swim Lessons

Blake is taking swim lessons this week.  He loves to jump off the diving board.

The Dentist

Blake had his first dentist appointment on Tuesday.  I had very low expectations.  Our neighbor is the receptionist and she started the visit off right by telling him that he was going to get prizes.  I guess that's all it took.  After he played with all of the gadgets and rode up and down in the chair a couple of times, he let the lady clean his teeth and apply a fluoride treatment.  He did great and he got more "prizes" than I ever remember getting at the dentist.  The real story though is that he had already had swim lessons that morning and after the dentist we went to get a haircut.  Yeah Blake!

Blair's Curls

My mother requested an up-close photo of Blair's curls.  Needless to say she doesn't get them from me.
