Blair Sliding

Blair will be 18 months old in two days.  Time seems to have flown.  She has the best little personality.  She loves to give kisses and hugs and is picking up words everyday.  Scott taught her to say baby.  The other day he told her to get her baby and she made a bee line to her room and retrieved her doll.  She was so proud of herself!  She wants to do everything that Blake does.  Saturday she decided she was big enough to follow him down the slide.

The Backyardagains

Scott and I took Blake to see the Backyardagains Live on Saturday.  He did great and really enjoyed the show.  Mallory kept Blair and the picture is of Blake giving Blair a hug before we left.  Look at his face!!

Science Center

Scott took Blake to the Science Center in Nashville on Saturday.   Scott said it's geared more for older kids, but they still had a great time.

Seagrove

Well, I think we need a vacation from our vacation!  Not really, but, anybody who thinks taking two little kids to the beach is a breeze is crazy.  After day one, Blake decided he didn't like the sand and refused to go to the beach.  Blair didn't really like the sand but got use to it.  What she hated most was the noise of the waves.  For the first two days, there was a tropical storm in the gulf so the waves were big.  She doesn't like loud noises (fireworks, car washes, and now waves!)  We finally made her happy on Wednesday when we discovered that she would sit very contentedly in a bucket of water.  Who would have thought?  We spent a lot of time by the pool at the house and a lot of time switching off kids and adults so that at least somebody could go to the beach.  Scott and I managed a nice dinner and an outdoor concert in Seaside.  Oh, I just about forgot, we came home a day early because Blair got sick!  She's feeling better now, just a little virus.  So, needless to say, we have had more restful vacations, but it was good to be at the beach and get a good tan!

VBS

We had Vacation Bible School last week.  Blake had a great time "Surfin' Through the Scriptures".  We are still singing "Beach Be-Attitudes" in the car.  He had a great little group and most of these kids are in his Sunday School class.  Left-Right--Blake, Ms. Diane holding Caleb, Bentley, Jude, Tessa, & Katelyn.  Ms. Diane has taken care of Blake in the nursery since he was a baby and is the two year old Sunday School teacher.  We are so fortunate to have a great childcare staff.

Swim Lessons

Blake is taking swim lessons this week.  He loves to jump off the diving board.

The Dentist

Blake had his first dentist appointment on Tuesday.  I had very low expectations.  Our neighbor is the receptionist and she started the visit off right by telling him that he was going to get prizes.  I guess that's all it took.  After he played with all of the gadgets and rode up and down in the chair a couple of times, he let the lady clean his teeth and apply a fluoride treatment.  He did great and he got more "prizes" than I ever remember getting at the dentist.  The real story though is that he had already had swim lessons that morning and after the dentist we went to get a haircut.  Yeah Blake!

Blair's Curls

My mother requested an up-close photo of Blair's curls.  Needless to say she doesn't get them from me.

Fun with the Websters

A couple of weeks ago Amy and I got together with the kids.  They outnumber us now so "getting together" isn't quite as easy as it use to be.  The children had a great time.  I looked back at one of my very first posts to this blog and there is a picture of the four of them.  Wow, have they grown! Thanks for sharing the pictures Amy.

Blair Goes for a Ride

There She Goes

Blair was 16 months old on Friday.  She started to really walk on Monday.  I got this picture as she toddled out of the kitchen before church this morning.

Beech Bend

We had a church outing at Beech Bend Water Park in Bowling Green, KY today.  Blake had a blast.  They had a wonderful area for toddlers, but he really loved the big slides which he could ride with us.  We rode some rides and played putt-putt after lunch.  Putt-putt was a little iffy.  Scott really didn't get to play, just help Blake, which was fine.  He showed him how to hold the putter and where to put his feet.  Blake even made a hole in one (with a little help from dad)!

New Car

Blake is now driving thanks to Aunt Becky!  She got him a battery powered bumper car for his birthday.  He loves it.

Marley

Blake and Blair got a chance to play with their cousin Marley while we were visiting my parents.  She is such a cutie!  They had a lot of fun.

Playground

The kids and I spent the week with my parents.  The weather was really nice and we got to do a lot of playing outside and visiting with family.  We took Blake to the playground.  He also got to go to Bays Mountain with his Nana.

Dollywood

If you are thinking of going to Dollywood then this is the summer to go.  The crowd was very light and according to the staff, attendance is down overall.  Blake was pretty worn out by Sunday the kids left with my parents and Scott's mom around 2:00.  Scott and I stayed and rode some of the bigger rides.  We didn't have to wait in a single line.

Aquarium & The Track

We went to Gatlinburg last weekend.  Saturday we took the kids to the aquarium.  It was really neat, well worth the time.  Then we went to The Track.  Blake and Scott rode a go cart and Blake rode several of the kiddie rides they had there.  We went back the to condo and went swimming.  Blake kicked across the pool holding onto a small float.  My parents came for dinner and the boys went for a drive.  They saw two bears, two bear cubs and deer.

Watermelon

Blake has been asking for watermelon so we bought one at the Farmer's Market.  We spent the afternoon playing in the "pool" and water table.  The playing consisted of Blake dumping buckets of water on Scott and me.  We got out the watermelon and as you can see he enjoyed it.  Blair did too.

Blake Pics

Blake keeps us on our toes.  He insisted on putting his snow clothes on the other day.  It was only 85 degrees outside.  Why not??  He got completely dressed and opened the backdoor to go outside.  He stood there for a minute, then under his breath said, "phew"and proceeded to undress.  He LOVES outside.  I am also including a picture of the cat he drew.  I was pretty impressed.
