Happy Easter

What a COLD Easter morning!  Blair looked adorable.  Blake wouldn't pose for a picture, but he looked handsome.  We went to early service and the Easter Bunny came while we were at church.

Easter Egg Hunt

Last weekend our church had an Easter Egg Hunt.  Blake has really enjoyed Easter this year.  He loves the idea of finding eggs that have "treats" in them.  So much so, in fact, that when "hunting" eggs he stops to look in each one to see what he has found.  No prize for the most eggs this year!

A Real Snow Day

It snowed Friday night and we finally got enough to justify buying a snowsuit!  (4 or 5 inches)  I think a lot of it was gone by Saturday afternoon and it was all gone by Sunday.  Winter's last gasp, which is fine by me.  Blake wasn't as thrilled with the snow as we were.  He was warm all except for his hands.  He had gloves but none that were waterproof and his hands quickly got cold and wet.  It didn't take long for him to come inside for hot chocolate.

A Pretty Day

Sunday was a beautiful day!  We played outside.  Blair got to swing for the first time and she loved it.  On Monday, I took her to the doctor.  She weighs 16.7 pounds which means she still has to sit facing backwards in the car.  (sigh)  I am going to go ahead and switch the seats though.  I've had enough of the baby carrier.  The doctor said she was a perfectly happy, healthy one year old.  We no longer have to adjust for her prematurity because she has "caught up".  He is predicting that she will give her big brother a run for his money.  I have no doubts about that.

Mallory brought her puppy Ollie over for a visit.  Blake LOVED him and Ollie loved Blake too.  

Snow Day

Blake didn't have school today because of snow.  It wasn't much, but in Middle Tennessee that's enough to get excited about.  We didn't stay out long because it was really cold and still snowing.  He was more interested to get inside to hot chocolate anyway!

Happy Birthday Blair!

Blair will turn one on Wednesday.  I can't believe that it's been a year!  All of the grandparents came for a little party.  Blair had fun, but I think Blake had the most fun.  He essentially opened all of her presents.  We all enjoyed cake that Nana made.

I was able to take a couple of pictures this morning before we ran errands.  I would have more of Blake but when I asked him to be in some pictures he informed me he was "too busy".  This was as he was meticulously lining up his cars one by one along the table.

A Chocolate Treat!

Mallory kept Blake and Blair on Monday evening. "B&B" got her a box of chocolates because she is, of course, "The Best Babysitter Ever"! Anyway I'll skip to the best part. While Mallory is tending to Blair, Blake becomes suspiciously quiet. She goes to the kitchen where she finds the lid off of her box of chocolates and THREE pieces missing. She calls for him and gets no answer. She locates him crouching behind the sofa with chocolate ALL over his face and melting pieces in his hands!!! Oh, and the wrapper to her box of chocolates is wrapped around his head like some kind of hero banner! Miraculously, there were no chocolate fingerprints to be found. Thank goodness!

Chuck E. Cheese's

We had a big plan to take Blake (Mallory kept Blair) to see the new Veggie Tale's movie. I had checked the schedule on Thursday and it said they had a 4:25 show. We thought that would be perfect. Well...they change the movie times on Friday and Veggie Tales was no longer playing at 4:25. I had talked about to him all day so, we had one disappointed little boy on our hands. Plan B turned out to be Chuck E. Cheese's. He had a ball! We got there early so it wasn't too crowded and he had time to explore. Twenty five tokens and seventy two tickets later we settled on a packet of Fun Dip and two pieces of candy. Scott tried to get him to get a little rubber snake but nothing would do Blake except to have the pure sugar! YUCK! Needless to say he forgot all about the movie and we all had a great time.

The Girl has Curl!

Scott and I wanted to watch the UT/Vandy basketball game so we decided to speed up bath time tonight. We put them in the bath tub together. I don't know how much time it saved us in the end, but they had fun. Blair finally has a little bit of hair! As you can see, it is really curly when it's wet. Blake keeps asking me to put a hair bow in her hair, but she doesn't have quite that much!
